Important Guest Information

Dear Guests,

Please review the NC Executive Order regarding certain COVID-19 restrictions such as mandatory face masks in public places, inside where physical distancing of six feet is not possible until June 30, 2021 /new executive order lifts the outdoor masks requirement.
Due to the requirements and cleaning guidelines, we hope you will be patient with us as we will need extra time to clean properties and may need to delay check-in times. Please plan to arrive after 4 pm.
Brief Overview with Area Requirements and new Rules/Requirements:
*Visitors/Guests should bring their own face covering/masks as they will be required to be used inside areas where the public is allowed inside open businesses. *Please bring masks with you, practice social distancing, and proper hand hygiene!
*Our office will be closed to the public. All correspondence will need to be done via phone or email. All check-in envelopes will have sanitized keys and can be found in the Dropbox on the front of our office building. Guests arriving after hours or on a Sunday, the check-in packets will be in the white Dropbox unless otherwise notified.
*All social distancing guidance is expected to be followed, even on the beach – 6 feet apart between each family group.
*Limitations on the number of people permitted at one time into businesses or other public spaces based on size of the building or other factors.
*Town officials are recommending that all Visitors/Guests should bring essentials with them, including paper and sanitizing products including non-perishable groceries. Like many places in the United States, all shoppers should expect to see changes in product availability at grocery and retail outlets as supply chain demand fluctuates across the nation.
VERY IMPORTANT – NEW RULES AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
*All decorative pillows, shams, throw blankets, bed blankets, etc. are being removed from furniture and beds – they may be either removed from the property or bagged and placed into closets. Please do not remove them from their bags or closets for the safety of everyone.
*Guests will need to bring or rent blankets. We highly recommend all Guests to bring their own bed pillows.

Hurricane Arthur

July 3, 2014 – Information provided by The Town of Surf City

The first heavy rain has just begun. Tropical Storm Arthur has become a hurricane with 80 mph winds and is now beginning to make its turn toward the northeast. Satellite and radar both depict a better-defined storm and reconnaissance aircraft shows eye pressures are in a steady fall which indicates that strengthening is continuing. The center of the storm is currently located off the east coast of Florida about 105 miles southeast of Charleston and about 300 miles southwest of Cape Hatteras. The forecast scenario discussed in updates over the last 24 hours has changed very little, as steering currents for Hurricane Arthur are very well defined. Given the significant fall in central pressure this morning and the favorable environment for strengthening, Arthur could easily become a category 2 hurricane by the time it reaches the vicinity of the Outer Banks of North Carolina early Friday morning. This expected motion will cause the storm to parallel the South Carolina coast on today and then the North Carolina coast tonight.
