Town of Surf City Emergency Management and Maintenance crews have completed a visual impact assessment following Hurricane Erin’s offshore pass. All public beach access crossovers are open and remain undamaged. Overall, the beach and dune system performed very well. In general, impacts were minimal, and no significant concerns have been identified at this time. Despite limited impacts to the beach itself, hazardous ocean conditions remain in effect. Please familiarize yourself with the beach flag warnings. The red flags are out as notification of the high risk of rip currents.
